Comprehensive Care Services Pty Ltd Comprehensive Care Services needs disability services officers in multiple locations across Newcastle and Hunter region who can provide support and care to individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities. The role involves helping clients manage daily activities, access community services, and live as independently as possible through needs assessment, personalized care plans, and communication with families and healthcare providers. Benefits Benefits include continuous professional development. Salary: $82,150.00 - $96,150.00 (plus superannuation). Laptop and use of company vehicles for work. Key Responsibilities of a Disability Officer May Include Needs assessment: Conducting comprehensive evaluations to understand individual client needs. Care plan development: Creating personalized care plans outlining specific support strategies and goals. Personal assistance: Providing direct support with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance. Medication management: Reminding clients to take medications as prescribed and monitoring side effects. Communication and advocacy: Ensuring coordinated care and advocating for client needs. Skill development: Implementing programs to teach clients new skills. Social engagement: Organizing social activities to promote community integration. Progress monitoring: Regularly assessing client progress against care plan goals. Documentation and reporting: Maintaining accurate client records. Required Skills and Qualifications Compassionate attitude and empathy: Ability to connect with individuals with disabilities. Strong communication skills: Effective verbal and written communication. Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify challenges and develop solutions. Physical ability: Ability to perform tasks requiring physical assistance. Relevant education and training: A certificate or diploma in disability support work or a related field is typically required.
