Doctors - Fit For Emergency Assessments Role Corporate Health Management are looking for doctors to undertake occupational health assessments for emergency response workers. The role will commence in July 2024 and run through to November. This role provides an excellent opportunity to travel Victoria, with medical sites in 20 locations across the state. Who we are Corporate Health Management (CHM) is one of Australia’s leading providers of corporate health and wellbeing services. We deliver a variety of health services to clients across Victoria including health assessments, health checks, pre-employment medicals, vaccination programs and more. Job Description: Conducting medical assessments against specific health standards, for emergency response workers. Communicating the outcome of the assessment to emergency response workers and employer. Reviewing referral/specialist information when it is submitted. Trips to regional locations ranging from one to five days – travel, meals and accommodation included. Training in medical standards provided. Doctor Requirements Willingness to work across Victoria in numerous different locations including multiple nights away. Responsive to emails/phone calls from CHM staff in a one to two-day turnaround time frame. Capacity to review referral/specialist information (48 turnaround times required) to ensure timely assessment of a person’s fitness to work. Occupational health experience desirable, but not essential. Excellent communication skills, and proficiency in communicating with a range of people/stakeholders, particularly employees and CHM staff Understanding of and commitment to following cultural safety principals. Empathetic with excellent bedside manner. Often medical decisions will impact people’s employment so care must be taken to limit anxiety and uncertainly wherever possible. Ability to work autonomously, but also understand when to contact senior medical staff for advice. Able to commit to work from late May to end of October. Qualifications AHPRA Registration stating they are qualified as a Medical Practitioner. Overseas trained doctors need to have passed their AMC exams. Current unrestricted drivers licence and own reliable vehicle. Medical Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. Full Australian working rights Approx. Volume of Work The quantity of shifts will vary by week, however are full days. The shifts you are allocated will depend on the shifts available and your availability. 1-hour paid lunch break. No weekend work required, apart from occasional travel to and from site. Availability Must be available a minimum of 4 consecutive weekdays per week. Location Doctors will be required to travel and deliver the medical assessments (with a nurse) across metropolitan and regional Victoria. Regional travel with overnight stays for up to a week is a requirement of this role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
