Domestic Violence Case Manager - Two Positions Carrie's Place Domestic Violence & Homelessness Services Inc. Two fixed-term contracts to 30 June 2026 Full Time - 35 hours per week Part Time - 32 hours per week Founded in 1979, Carrie's Place Domestic Violence and Homelessness Service is a committed team of professionals dedicated to raising awareness of domestic violence within the community. As a not-for-profit organisation, we offer a wide range of culturally sensitive services to individuals affected by domestic violence and homelessness. Our mission is to empower families in the Maitland and Lower Hunter regions by helping them find safe, stable housing and live free from abuse. We work closely with local communities to address domestic violence and homelessness, providing holistic support that fosters capacity-building, inclusion, and resilience. Our passionate team collaborates to offer a variety of programs focusing on equipping clients with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to maintain healthy relationships and achieve greater independence. About the Role: The Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) team delivers support to women and children to remain in their home, or a home of their choice, after experiencing domestic violence. As Case Manager, you will undertake key tasks at the direction of the Team Leader SHLV and in close partnership with the Senior Practitioner. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Case Manager will provide support to clients in safety planning, including assessing the safety of the home and security, and provide case management to support recovery from domestic violence impacts. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing person-centred, trauma-informed responses to SHLV service requests. Contacting referred clients in a timely manner and addressing immediate needs. Providing information, advice, advocacy, referrals, strategies and interventions to people in crisis and/or who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, and/or domestic violence. Developing case plans addressing client goals to assist with ongoing and changing support needs. Participating as a member of both the SHLV team and the broader Carrie’s Place team. Providing expert program-related advice. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Science or a related field (minimum Diploma qualified). Demonstrated experience in providing direct support to individuals affected by domestic violence, including assessment, safety planning, and referrals. In-depth knowledge of the impacts of domestic violence on individuals and families, and ability to offer trauma-informed care and support. A commitment to a feminist philosophy, and the principles of social justice and human rights. Ability to demonstrate a high level of emotional maturity, including respectful and ethical behaviour. Experience working in a Specialist Domestic Violence, Homelessness, and/or Community Service Organisation, understanding the complexities and support needs of the Homelessness and Domestic Violence client cohort. Ability to deliver services in accordance with SHS program guidelines, and best practice skills as a Case Manager. Ability to collaborate with local communities to promote awareness of homelessness and domestic violence services. Excellent communication skills, particularly in negotiation, advocacy and conflict resolution. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients in crisis and provide appropriate, trauma-informed support. Demonstrated ability to network and develop working relationships with local communities and stakeholders. Excellent organisational and administrative skills, and computer literacy. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Current NSW Driver’s Licence. National Police Check, or willing to obtain. Working With Children Check, or willing to obtain. Carrie's Place Benefits: Fixed-term full-time contract to 30 June 2026: Annual salary $89,689 in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 5. Fixed-term part-time contract to 30 June 2026: Annual salary $85,712 in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 5. Both vacancies: Flexible working arrangements.
