Add expected salary to your profile for insights Avia Homes is a young dynamic team seeking a Drafting Manager with a positive can-do attitude, on a full-time ongoing basis. Key responsibilities: Oversee the delegation of drafting tasks to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and timely project completion. Identify workload challenges and quality concerns within the team, working alongside the Drafting Team Leader to provide additional training and support as needed. Develop and implement a vision for the adoption and integration of new drafting software, such as Revit and SolidWorks, across the drafting and operations teams. Set deadlines, establish goals, and define production standards to maintain consistency and efficiency within the drafting department. Work closely with the Operations Manager and Building Manager to ensure all drawings meet quality standards and contain the necessary details for project execution. Analyze data, review drawings and plans, and ensure project feasibility while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Provide technical support and develop solutions for drafting-related application issues to ensure seamless operations. Establish and continuously refine best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with evolving business needs. Coordinate the development and maintenance of Master Plans and technical details to align with business objectives and project requirements. Track and manage plan changes and variations, working to develop standard options on Master Plans to reduce the need for fully custom plans. Monitor and oversee council and developer Requests for Information (RFIs), implementing strategies to minimize touchpoints and prevent avoidable project delays. Review and provide feedback on all specification changes and updates to ensure drafting consistency and accuracy. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has: A minimum of 10 years of professional work experience. Extensive knowledge in REVIT. Familiarity with current Australian Standard Building Codes and Practices. Comprehensive understanding of the NCC, BCA & QDC and state council regulations. A solid understanding of construction methods. Demonstrated strengths in organisation, attention to detail, efficient task execution, creative problem-solving, collaboration within a team, and a strong sense of pride in your work and personal contributions.
