Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the EHS Manager role will make an impact by ensuring the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, occupational health, and safety legislations. Perform specialised tasks, and other duties to promote and ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound work environment. Guide EHS personnel as required and work with all site leads to create a collaborative and cohesive team. Key responsibilities for this role include: Execute comprehensive site strategies, EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe and environmentally sound workplace whilst ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice. Prepare EHS reports, assessments, studies, analyses, etc. within the nominated timeframe. Ensure compliance to legislative and Global requirements are adhered to by employees, ETWs, contractors and visitors. Ensure inspections and internal assessments of Viatris facilities and supporting programs are conducted to detect existing or potential EHS hazards and make recommendation(s) for corrective action or preventative measures. Ensure compliance with EHS reporting requirements and report any updates to the relevant manager. Ensure that contractors, through their hosts, meet all necessary requirements of the task such as Safe Work Management System (SWMS), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), work permit, necessary licensing, and certifications, etc. Support and conduct product risk assessments using inputs from process safety information and using tools like Hazop, Hazan etc. Support and conduct risk assessments as required by legislation in tasks, chemical, equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE). Track and monitor compliance of findings. Select and deploy correct PPEs taking input of Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology data, risk assessments etc. Manage injury management and any associated rehabilitation/return to work plans, as required. Liaise with workers compensation insurer and provide any necessary documentation. Ensure environmental sustainability through the monitoring and reporting of all aspects of environmental management and implementing necessary control measures as required. Ensure the coordination, development or conduct of EHS training and coaching is performed, as required. Confer with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and consultants as required to maintain currency within the EHS arena. Assign objectives, responsibilities, and duties to EHS personnel, including contractors associated with EHS, whilst also managing and coordinating their activities, or as directed. Communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators, and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives. Participate in the planning and forecasting processes for business statistics, operational budget and expenses, and capital budget as required. Manage security within the Queensland sites ensuring both the physical and electronic protection is maintained to a high standard. The minimum qualifications for this role are: At least five (5) years successful experience within the manufacturing industry preferably the Pharmaceutical or Food industry. Demonstrated five (5) years’ experience in an EHS role directly supporting operations (ideally within a related industry). A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, OSH preferred). Cert IV in Training & Assessment (preferred or willing to obtain). Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices – GMP (preferred or willing to obtain). Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to advise and apply statutory obligations in respect to EHS Legislations.
