EL 1 - Deputy Program Director, Strategic High-Frequency Communications - (EOI) Temporary Transfer/Higher Duties Allowance (HDA) $115,899 - $130,733 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation Campbell Park - ACT The Role The Deputy Program Director for Strategic High-Frequency Communications (SHFC) is responsible for supporting the delivery and sustainment of critical HF communications capabilities for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). This role includes managing procurement and sustainment activities in alignment with Materiel Acquisition and Sustainment Agreements, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and specifications.Key responsibilities include performance reporting for APS and ADF staff, providing timely advice to senior management, overseeing Australian Industry Capability Plan requirements, and ensuring compliance with Defence policies and regulations.The role demands exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. Strong communication, ethical decision-making, and adherence to governance frameworks are essential. The Deputy Program Director must demonstrate financial acumen, risk management expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement while acting in the best interests of the Commonwealth to deliver value for money and operational excellence.This position is available as a Temporary Transfer/Higher Duties Allowance (HDA) for a period of Until 10 September 2024. The team operates collaboratively across Defence and industry, ensuring alignment with the Capability Manager’s objectives and broader organisational goals.With a focus on achieving outcomes specified in Materiel Acquisition and Sustainment Agreements, the team ensures delivery within defined budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Employing best practice project management and governance frameworks, the SHFC Team prioritises efficiency, effectiveness, and value for money while meeting contractual and policy obligations. The team fosters a culture of communication and collaboration, integrating expertise across technical, operational, and strategic domains.Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for the Deputy Program Director is a leader with a strong background in program and project management, particularly within Defence or similar environments.
