EL 1 - (S&T Level 5) - Senior Undersea Warfare Research Specialist $115,899 - $130,733 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Edinburgh - SA, Rockingham - WA The Role You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Undersea Systems Branch contributing to research and development of current and future Australian Defence Force (ADF) undersea warfare capabilities.You will undertake a subset of the following duties, depending on your specific skills: Development of fit-for-purpose system, sensor, platform and threat model representations Validation, verification, documentation and configuration management of models and tools Sensor signal processing and algorithm development for undersea systems Development and test of prototype hardware and sea trials test, evaluation and analysis Analysis and interpretation of data and effective communication of results to a variety of stakeholders You will be expected to contribute to a positive, productive and collaborative team environment. You will assist in the maintenance and evolution of the work area’s capabilities and participate in international research programs. About our Team The Undersea Systems Branch of Sensors and Effectors Division works closely with the ADF to provide independent scientific and technical knowledge and expertise in the undersea environment, sonar sensing, processing, modelling and analysis and undersea weapon systems. The Branch provides support to in-service and future sonar and weapon systems and conducts research and development of undersea sensors, sensing systems, weapon systems and countermeasures.
