With over 1900 employees, the work undertaken by the City Standards teams plays a big part in enhancing Brisbane's livability. Commercial Services & Business Improvement (CSBI) Branch drives improvement, agility, and resilience across the city for Safety, Environmental Management, Business Improvement, Contract and Risk Management, and Learning and Development. The Environmental Management Team provides leadership, support and advice in all matters relating to environmental management across City Standards. The Role Reporting to the Environmental Management Coordinator, the Environmental Management Officer will actively coordinate and contribute to the environmental performance of City Standards to effectively improve and maintain the certified CS Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensure continual compliance with all relevant legislation in addition to providing a full range of professional environmental advisory services across all aspects of City Standards. To be successful you will have: Proven ability to conduct environmental risk assessments, and compile environmental management plans, implementation and auditing of project management plans. Demonstrated knowledge and interpretation and implementation of environmental and associated legislation, standards and processes. Ability to assist with incident response, including participating in an on-call roster. Proven experience in administering, developing, implementing, auditing and integrating EMS aptitude to identify new technologies and practices in order to improve the sustainability of City Standards’ activities.
