Key Information Position Type: Casual Location: Across all clinics Salary Range: Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP2.1-3.4)/ Registered Nurse (RN) (2.1-3.3) Application Closing Date: 01 December 2025 About the Role: The Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP)/Registered Nurse (RN) provides high quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary health care to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people of the Greater Darwin Area. Supported by and supporting other health practitioners both within DDHS and the community. This role is crucial to maintaining cultural integrity and advocates strongly for our clients. What You Need to Succeed Bachelor of Nursing and/or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice). Current registration as an AHP/ Nurse with AHPRA. Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in providing Primary Health Care, utilising standard treatment manuals. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. Demonstrated, well developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills including with the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion. Ability to work independently, and as a member of a team, with strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks. Demonstrated computer skills, including experience using the Microsoft suite of applications and clinical practice software. Remote health experience and/or emergency care experience. Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or similar environment. Additional Information Want to talk this job through some more?
