Seeking internal expressions of interest cross-sector Temporary full-time role available for up to 6 months Sydney or regional location encouraged with flexible working supported TRP from $248K to $272K including superannuation Are you a strategic and influential cyber security leader within government? Our Corporate Services Division is seeking to fill the role of Chief Information Security Officer within their Digital Information Office via an internal expressions of interest across the public sector. As the Chief Information Security Officer , you will lead the implementation of the Department’s information security strategy, governance framework, and architecture to ensure secure digital services align with business outcomes. You will also establish and communicate cyber security policies, standards, and training to enhance security awareness and compliance. Additionally, you will monitor, assess, and respond to security threats, incidents, and investigations, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legislative, and statutory obligations. This is an exciting role which enables you to drive information security strategy, governance, and risk management across multiple Departments, whilst giving you the opportunity to shape and strengthen our cyber resilience. About You To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of navigating the fast-evolving cybersecurity landscape, addressing emerging threats, managing incidents, and driving awareness of best practices across the organisation. You will also bring a strong focus on collaboration with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders to drive security initiatives. More broadly, it is essential that you are an experienced people leader with the ability to foster high-performing teams and a culture of continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to mitigating security risks are essential. You will also be customer-focused and an effective communicator which enables you to translate complex security concepts for a diverse audience. Your ability to drive innovation, inspire collaboration, and navigate change will be key to your success in this role.
