We provide a collaborative environment, supporting our employees to achieve career goals and maximise their potential.The opportunity: Multiple positions.As the Cyber Security Specialist you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust cyber security frameworks to protect Defence assets and information systems against evolving threats. You will see yourself collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the cyber resilience of critical Defence infrastructure while ensuring compliance with Australian Government security standards.The role is based at our ACT CBD location. Perform risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security threats. Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and frameworks aligned with the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Essential Eight and Defence security guidelines. Implement and monitor security measures for IT networks, systems, and applications. Respond to and manage cyber incidents, conducting forensic analysis where necessary. Assist in the secure development and deployment of Defence IT systems. Configure and maintain security tools, such as firewalls, SIEMs, and endpoint protection solutions. Mandatory: Baseline Security Clearance & Australian citizenship. Non negotiable. Proven experience in cyber security within Defence, government, or critical infrastructure sectors. Knowledge of Defence security frameworks, including ISM, PSPF, and the Essential Eight. Hands-on expertise with security technologies, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and SIEM tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies. Industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent. Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Experience with secure software development and DevSecOps practices.
