Manager, PMO and Governance (Environmental Officer 13) Temporary (Up to 30 June 2025) full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity Located in Parramatta - regional location encouraged/Hybrid working supported Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $159,264 to $170,592 + super Expressions of Interest are invited for an opportunity as Manager, PMO and Governance within the Digital Transformation program in the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) within the Biodiversity & Conservation Division. The Digital Transformation Program is delivering critical fixes, enhancements, and upgrades to minimise the risk of failure of BOS systems, thereby continuing delivery of statutory biodiversity conservation functions in NSW. We are a multi-skilled team of people passionate about delivering a better experience for our customers and employees through automation and process rationalisation. The Manager, PMO & Governance will play a key role within the Digital Transformation program. The successful candidate will lead the Project Management Office & Governance team in the development of project management, governance and planning frameworks built on best practice methodologies, strategic alignment, continuous improvement and quality reviews. The role works closely with project leads & business teams providing advice and guidance to ensure consistent and successful business outcomes. The role builds effective working relationships with nominated Programme and Project Management Offices Cluster and other NSW government agencies. About You You bring valuable experience in operating a Program Management Office (PMO) for large, complex programs or portfolios with diverse stakeholders to the Digital Transformation program. A proven track record in developing and implementing robust governance frameworks, as well as managing overall processes and controls, is essential. Your experience liaising with Sponsors, Steering Committees, and stakeholders at all levels will position you for success in this challenging and dynamic role. Specifically, the PMO Manager will oversee and enhance the PMO, ensuring all Digital Transformation projects are aligned with organisational goals and delivered effectively. The role includes establishing and maintaining effective project management frameworks, processes, and standards based on industry best practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements, while maintaining high-quality outcomes. As a key leader, the PMO Manager will provide strategic guidance, coaching, and support to senior stakeholders and project managers throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO to optimise project delivery and contribute to the overall success of the program. Essential requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, computer science, information technology or equivalent relevant industry experience. Knowledge and experience Extensive experience in leading a Portfolio Change Office function including provision of project management support activities within a complex environment.
