What you’ll be doing We are seeking a Server and Data Centre Engineer at all levels for upcoming projects, to work within our project team for a key client in the resources sector. You will work on varied and interesting ICT infrastructure projects, starting from project inception, through solution design and implementation, and then handing over to the operational team. This role will be predominantly office-based project work in Brisbane, with occasional interstate travel. Typical tasks may include: Design, deployment and configuration of client/server and data centre infrastructure including physical and virtual compute, storage, cloud, backup, security, etc. Patching and upgrading supported systems in line with policy. Provide technology leadership across on-premise and cloud workload planning and strategy. Assess existing infrastructure to evaluate lifecycle, performance or configuration, and provide guidance and recommendations for optimization or remediation of issues. Contribute to high-level and low-level designs and roadmaps within specialized knowledge domains. Producing and maintaining technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions. Providing technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of technical issues related to supported infrastructure and applications. Conducting acceptance tests and commissioning of systems and applications. Working with suppliers/carriers/vendors as required to identify and resolve technical issues. Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and accuracy to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality within the specified time constraints. Working Conditions Based in Brisbane Permanent full time Occasional travel Medical may be required for site access What will make you successful in this role? • Experience support Windows Server including DNS, AD, Group Policy, Print Management, File Services, DHCP.• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, MS Hyper-V, Citrix Hypervisor, etc.• Experience with converged and hyperconverged Data Centre technologies such as Dell VxRail, Nutanix HCI, etc.• Experience with enterprise storage solutions such as NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, etc.• Basic understanding of Azure/AWS and cloud concepts.• Experience with Data protection technologies such as Veeam, Commvault, etc.• Experience with patching Windows systems via MECM.• PowerShell Scripting for automation.• Experience with Mining Sector and Process Control Environments.• Highly Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP)).
