We are seeking a Principal Policy Officer to not only expand your knowledge and skills but to also bring your experience to our organisation.QBCC supports the growing Queensland community through our contribution to a thriving and resilient building and construction industry that supports sustainable, social, environmental, and economic outcomes for the state.QBCC's regulatory purpose is to reduce risk in the building and construction industry, offer protection from harm, and encourage innovative industry responses to current and emerging challenges.In This Role You Will Work closely with the Director and Manager (leadership team) to provide expert legislative policy services to the QBCC. Lead the Legislative Concerns Register (LCR) process as part of the Legislative Policy Governance Framework to support the Commissioner's strategic priorities for government advocacy and legislative policy reform. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify legislative issues, undertake further research in relation to LCR matters, and work with the leadership team to assign LCR priorities. Work collaboratively with external agencies, particularly the Department of Public Works, to facilitate information exchange and develop policy options for progression. Candidate Attributes Demonstrated understanding of policy and legislative development processes, particularly as they relate to the QBCC. High-level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to develop effective internal and external stakeholder engagement strategies that promote trust and confidence. Ability to research and produce high-quality written material on complex legislative issues. High-level project planning and implementation skills to support legislative issues research and legislative change implementation.
