GHD is now inviting expressions of interest for experienced Site Engineers - Pavements in Western Australia to become part of our globally recognised design team. The Site Engineer - Pavements will be responsible for overseeing and managing pavement construction projects in various locations across Western Australia on various roster arrangements. The role involves ensuring that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The candidate will work closely with project teams to deliver successful project outcomes. Joining our geotechnical and pavements team in Perth provides a distinctive opportunity to integrate technical proficiency, project execution, and client communication while contributing to a diverse project portfolio within our diverse and incredibly passionate national pavement team. Our primary focus areas encompass the road, rail, and aviation industries, including airports, metropolitan, and regional road projects. Your position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: QA/QC on site and facilitate QA/QC coordination meetings to update the status of the workload. Ensure that all inspections are carried out in compliance with the inspection and site plan. Study the work plan submitted by the contractor and suggest any necessary modifications. Inspect and supervise site works to ensure they are done in full accordance with the contract and technical specifications. Inspect and test materials prior to their use on site as per QA/QC procedures. Ensure the correct implementation of site works according to technical specifications and quality standards. Check and test completed works before they are covered by the contractor, taking photos regularly and documenting any defective work. Ensure that the site is arranged as per the site management plan and that all safety measures are taken for the safety of third parties in the vicinity of the site. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports and suggest additional safety measures if needed. What would you bring to the team? Minimum of 6 years of work experience in civil engineering, with a focus on pavement construction. Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. Experience in construction, particularly in pavements, Quality Control of Materials, and processing of Punch lists. Proficient in the application of technical specifications and interpretation of drawings. Knowledgeable in site inspections, quality assurance, and quality control procedures. Ability to supervise site works and ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards. Skilled in inspecting and testing materials prior to their use on site. Competent in preparation of site documentation, including memos, instructions, reports, and other relevant documents. Interested?
