Role ROLE OF LANGUAGE ASSISTANT Language Assistants need to be flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn in a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities include: Work with individual or small groups of students undertaking language learning activities. Provide feedback to students on correct language usage. Model correct language usage (e.g., pronunciation and idiom). Team-teach or provide targeted support to small groups or individuals. Assist the delivery of cultural activities. Contribute to professional development sessions for language teachers. Participate in activities that promote the target language. Provide native speaker expertise to teachers. Assist with curriculum planning and resource development. Conduct background research for language teaching materials. Responsibilities Language assistants are supported by key school and departmental staff. Responsibilities include: Participate in classes and activities as determined by the school's language assistant coordinator. Assist with the development of resources to support the delivery of language programs. Who May Apply Individuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position: Hold a bachelor's degree (majoring in the relevant target language) and/or possess mother tongue proficiency in the relevant target language. Have a level of English proficiency equivalent to an IELTS score of no less than 6. Hold a valid Working with Children Check at the commencement of their role. Be prepared to work a minimum of 7.6 hours daily for four days per week.
