Role Description/Criteria We are excited to announce a new ESCC Learning Specialist position at MacKillop, where you will play a key role in assisting Children and Young People with Educational Support. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people who may have experienced trauma, placement breakdowns, and/or challenges to school engagement. Our programs aim to provide high-quality services that promote a positive educational experience, not only academically but also socially and emotionally. We adopt a holistic, trauma-informed model of practice that promotes safety, positive relationships, and creates a supportive learning environment. In 2023, our Education Programs supported over 700 students across Victoria to remain engaged or re-engage with learning. Key Responsibilities: Create and implement customized educational programs that address each Young Person's unique needs. Provide focused support in numeracy and literacy to help them achieve their full potential. Deliver one-on-one education and provide specialist education support, advocacy, school-based and targeted learning interventions, outreach, tutoring, enrolment support, and access to student brokerage. Use a more individualized, flexible approach to learning to support Young People to achieve their learning goals, transition back to mainstream, or access vocational training or further education. About Us: As an ESCC Learning Specialist, you will be part of a dedicated team of professionals who share your passion for education and making a difference in the lives of children and young people. You will receive support from an experienced Coordinator who will guide you, as well as from a wider team that offers collaborative support and shares their expertise to ensure you have the resources required to succeed. Skills We Require: Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated teaching experience. Tertiary Qualification in Education. Demonstrated experience in working with Children and Young People who may have experienced trauma and present with diverse needs. Demonstrated professional experience, training, and skills in the provision of supportive and empowering services available for young people.
