Key Information Position Type: Fixed term, until 30 June 2026 Location: Darwin NT Salary Range: Allied Health Professional (P) P1.1-P1.4 About the Role: The Podiatrist provides services to clients eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and mainstream services. The role is underpinned by the CHSP wellness approach, working with clients to maximise functional independence and ability to participate and remain living in the community. The Podiatrist works in a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality, culturally safe services that meet the needs of Danila Dilba clients, with a focus on chronic diseases. What You Need to Succeed PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide contemporary and culturally appropriate podiatry services in a 1 on 1 and group setting for eligible clients including assessment, treatment, planning, and evaluation under supervision from a senior Podiatrist (which will decrease as experience increases). Maintain quality client medical records. Work collaboratively and positively within the Allied Health team to provide holistic allied health services that meet the needs of DDHS clients. Manage caseload and client bookings to ensure timely, coordinated service delivery. Contribute to reporting for DDHS, taking responsibility for accurate content. Promote service integration through the development of active collaborative partnership with relevant agencies and individuals. Manage identification, maintenance and restocking of discipline-specific equipment and supplies. Provide advice to assist chronic disease program development and to contribute to professional development of DDHS staff. Contribute to quality improvement programs and other organisational activities required to meet service/accreditation standards. Contribute to the ongoing monitoring, evaluation and review of services. Contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and key performance indicators. With at least 12 months post-graduate experience, may be required to review aspects of the work of peers, provide professional advice to more recently employed allied health professionals, and contribute to the supervision of students/AH assistants. Display a commitment to personal and professional development by: Attending all mandatory training and actively pursuing other training and development as required to maintain currency of clinical knowledge. Applying reflective practice skills. Utilising the support of mentors and peers. Actively participating in the professional development and review (PDR) process. SELECTION CRITERIA Understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal community control and self-determination. Tertiary qualification in Podiatry with current AHPRA registration. Demonstrated knowledge and ability in managing a broad range of acute and chronic foot conditions. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Clear understanding of scope of practice. Demonstrated understanding of the primary health care context, principles of chronic disease prevention and management and goal-directed care planning. Understanding of the issues and barriers that affect the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client focus and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with other health professionals and agencies.
