The Nutrition and Dietetics Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Eat Walk Engage Facilitator (Allied Health Professions or Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity The purpose of this role is to lead the implementation of Eat Walk Engage (EWE) on the allocated ward/s by facilitating initiatives that will prevent delirium for older inpatients by providing high level expertise in clinical service delivery; project management and project coordination; education and training; and stakeholder engagement, liaison and negotiation at all levels. This role reports operationally to the EWE clinical lead (currently Director Dietetics). The role maintains a professional reporting relationship with the relevant Director of Allied Health Services. The position will work closely with other members of the EWE Mackay team (facilitators, multi-professional assistants, clinical lead), liaise routinely with the Statewide EWE program team, and work directly with ward multi-disciplinary teams. This role requires an ability to work within a collegial/team structure. This role has no direct financial and human resource delegations. About the Team Eat Walk Engage (EWE) is a patient-centred care program designed to prevent delirium and promote high quality acute care for older hospital inpatients. This is a state-wide geriatric inpatient initiative supported by the Healthcare Improvement Unit and an expert facilitation team at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH).
