Edinburgh Fringe Venue Front of House Manager Bedlam Theatre Deadline: 19 March 2025 at 17:00 We are pleased to invite applications for the role of Front of House Manager for Bedlam Fringe 2025 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about venue management, audience experience, and Front of House operations, with a strong interest in the arts—particularly theatre. The Deputy Venue Manager will support the Venue Manager in preparing the building for the festival and will take on Duty Management shifts throughout the event. Salary: £14 per hour, plus a generous benefits package: Flexible hours and a fun, diverse and exciting work environment A Bedlam venue pass offering free standby access to shows at Bedlam Fringe and our partner venues Free First-Aid training and certification Staff party after festival Contract: FreelanceWorking Hours: 6 Hours/Week April-Late July, 40 Hours/Week Late July-August. Working hours will not exceed the working time directives rules. The Role: Preparing all areas of the theatre for the Fringe, including building renovation projects and general housekeeping tasks. Ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere for visiting companies and audience members. Assisting audience members by dealing with their questions and issues, ensuring their safety and comfort on the premises, and providing excellent customer service. Acting as a fire steward and first aider for the venue, training for which will be provided. Duty Managing the venue during the Fringe, including dealing with issues as they arise, being the first point of contact in the venue for companies on-shift, and keeping the venue running to time. Managing the day-to-day operation of ticketing and Box Office during the Festival using Edinburgh Fringe Society and Red61 ticketing operational software. Setting up the box office and ticket scanning system, in collaboration with the Fringe Society and the Venue Manager. Overseeing the training of all Front of House staff. Writing and enforcing all procedures relating to Front of House. Maintaining the Front of House areas of the building in a tidy and presentable state.
