Sydney Catholic Schools Central Office Address: George Street, SYDNEY, NSW Education Officer: School Support Location: World Square, CBD Commencement Date: Immediate start or by negotiation Closing Date: Monday, 17 February 2025 Capacity: Full-time, temporary (2-year contract) No. of positions: 3 About the Role Reporting to the Manager: School Operations, the Education Officer: School Support will be responsible for providing advice and support to parents and school leaders. This role provides an opportunity to apply your in-depth knowledge of school operations at a system level and is a progression pathway into a school leadership role. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assessing and conducting inquiries into parent queries and complaints, including matters referred from schools. Supporting and assisting parents and schools in relation to Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) school policies and procedures through advice, interpretation, and embedding of quality custom and practice in schools. Supporting the design, delivery, and operations of Principal and Assistant Principal network meetings. Working with the Specialist: School Support in the coordination and management of data and information relating to the School Inquiry and Review Process . Collaborating within School Support and other directorates as required to ensure schools are supported by the resource most appropriate to the situation. Assisting in the development of professional learning for leaders. Any other duties as directed from time to time. About You We are seeking a motivated and professional candidate with the following experience, skills, and knowledge: NESA recognised tertiary qualification in Education or Teaching. Ability to demonstrate practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a school. Demonstrated experience in a middle leader (Coordinator 1, 2 or 3) role within a school. Experience in leading staff in professional learning. Demonstrated experience in managing difficult interactions with professionalism, balancing empathy and authority to maintain trust. Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives. Experience in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives. A current driver’s licence and access to a car. Willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS. Knowledge of Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems. Accreditation or willingness to obtain Accreditation for Senior Leadership in a Catholic School (Category E). A practising Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community, such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of their relationship with Jesus Christ.
