Located within our educational office; on site at Simpson Barracks Watsonia Full Time, Fixed Term opportunity until December 2026 Attractive remuneration package offered About the role: An exciting opportunity to work at and for one of Box Hill Institute’s commercial partnerships and client, ADF (Australian Defence Force) as an Education & Training Support Manager. Located on an ADF site, Simpsons Barracks Watsonia, this position is a full-time, fixed term opportunity, reporting to the Operations Manager. In this role, you will lead the Defence Instructor team in the effective provision of identifying and assessing future and current training needs, developing and administering an overall and/or individualised training and development plan and ensuring effective teaching staff functions and support systems. You will deploy a wide variety of methods, systems and innovative solutions within and between campuses for the Defence team. The role is responsible for providing Instructional Team management, leadership and providing clear, concise communication, business support and advice to the Head of Defence and Operations Manager. The Education & Training Support Manager is a critical point of liaison between Defence and the training support team. The position is required to ensure that BHI retains its pre-eminent position as a quality education provider and is a first choice for education and training. This involves maintaining productive relationships with the relevant employers, industries, governments and relevant agencies, and managing staff and resources involved in the training processes to ensure achievement of quality training outcomes. This position is based at the Defence Force Simpson Barracks located in Watsonia, but is expected to work in Box Hill, City, Lilydale and across any campus of BHI as required. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and currently hold or be able to obtain a NV1 Level Defence Security Clearance. About You: Training Co-ordination and/or teaching team management experience within an educational environment Leadership and team management skills and experience Existing or ability to qualify for NV1 Security clearance for access to Defence facilities. TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable) Ability to monitor and report to the Operations Manager and Head of Defence on the performance of the training plan against the schedule. Ensure timely and accurate use of Instructor’s time amidst schedule and project delivery Proven project management skills, excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple demands or training within tight timelines. Knowledge of project management methodology/scheduling is preferred Ability to initiate, lead and manage in a challenging and dynamic environment and ability to motivate and engage staff and to develop high performance, results and service oriented culture High level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with team leaders, instructors and peers.
