The opportunity: As the Electrical Authorisation Compliance Support Officer, you’ll be part of a high-energy, customer-focused team that supports Powerlink to deliver a safe, secure, and reliable energy future for all Queenslanders. In this 12-month contract, you will support the management and implementation of the Powerlink Electrical Authorisation Framework. This framework plays a vital role in ensuring that everyone working on or around our network and assets has the knowledge, skills, and qualifications to perform their work in a manner that is electrically safe and secure. You’ll need excellent planning and organisational skills to manage a high volume of enquiries and authorisation requests from Powerlink employees, approved external contractors, and maintenance service providers based throughout Queensland. You will perform a wide range of administration and coordination tasks to ensure authorisations requests and approvals are processed efficiently and accurately. This will include reviewing applications for electrical authorisations, verifying training evidence, licences and qualifications, issuing authorisation letters, and recording approved authorisations in various systems. Communication is a key part of this role. You’ll be constantly liaising with applicants, Sponsors, and Authorising Officers around the progress and outcome of authorisation requests, handling enquiries from field-based team members, and responding to requests for information. You will also support maintaining the ongoing compliance and validity of electrical authorisations by monitoring expiry dates and engaging with Sponsors and authorisation holders around the authorisation renewal process as required. The people you'll join: Based in Virginia, Brisbane, you will work within the Protective Security and Authorisations Team which is part of our Operational Engineering division, and you’ll report into the Team Leader Protective Security and Access Management. What you'll bring: Certificate in Business Administration or demonstrated relevant experience working in a similar role. This role demands strong attention to detail, very good planning and workflow management skills, excellent verbal and electronic communication skills, and the ability to effectively prioritise and perform work to a high-quality standard in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, where the safety and security of people, infrastructure, and information is critical. While experience in the electricity industry is not essential, experience working in or supporting a safety-sensitive, 24/7 operationally based organisation will be an advantage. A high level of proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with SAP (or a similar HRIS platform) and Learning and/or Qualification Management Systems will be essential to succeed in this role.
