With RSGx ongoing development into the Energy Market, particularly the HV Infrastructure segment, we are seeking a seasoned HV Electrical Estimator. RSGx provides integrated Electrical, Civil, Mechanical and SCADA solutions throughout the entire High-Voltage (HV) project lifecycle. RSGx's expertise is based on our experience in delivering major projects, both in Australia and abroad in the Generation (e.g. Renewable and Thermal) and Load Connections (e.g. Data Centres), Transmission Infrastructure, Distribution Networks, Oil & Gas, Mining, and Transport (Roads and Rail) infrastructure industries, in a collaborative fashion with our clients. Job Overview Driven by our ongoing development into the Energy Market and in particular the HV Infrastructure segment, we are seeking a seasoned Electrical Estimator with extensive experience working in the HV space, specifically on substations (but who might also have lines experience). This position can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, with hybrid work arrangements available. In this role, you will report to the General Manager of Energy and the Pre-Contracts Manager. You will work closely with design managers/engineers, project delivery resources, and other key stakeholders to understand project scope requirements, assist in the development of concept designs, and evaluate and prepare detailed competitive cost estimates using our digital tools. Key Responsibilities Conduct market analysis of margins, cash flow development, milestone payment outlines, and risk and contingency. Build collaborative long-term relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Stay informed with current market trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure estimates are up-to-date and competitive. Review and adjust estimates based on changes in project scope, design modifications, or updated information. Present detailed cost reports to key internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key cost factors and potential areas for cost savings, while ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Assist in updating pre-contract processes and procedures, ensuring proper handover documentation for project kick-off. About You You are an Electrical Estimator, Project Engineer with cost estimation experience, or site-focused Project Manager with experience managing project cash costs, looking for an off-site opportunity with experience working with 66kV to 500kV assets. We also welcome individuals who are nearing retirement or have recently retired, offering opportunities for part-time and ad hoc work. You have a proven track record in producing bills of quantity and estimate take-offs, working with suppliers/subcontractors to confirm division of responsibilities and supply, and enabling risk assessment and risk cost processes. You bring experience in using digital estimating software tools and have excellent English written and oral skills that ensure effective communication and precise documentation.
