POSITION: Elementary Kindergarten Teacher – 1.0 FTE LOCATION: Robert L Green Elementary SALARY: Per ELEA Contract WORK YEAR: 24/25 School Year START DATE: November 22, 2024 APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 6, 2024 General Summary Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Elementary Teacher is responsible for instructing students in multiple subject areas. As a member of the professional staff, the teacher has responsibilities in the areas of: instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, student relations, parent and community relations, and staff relations. About the Role 1. Displays a high degree of knowledge in teaching at the elementary level and is continuously improving competence. 2. Organizes learning activities to provide varied classroom activities that are congruent with educational goals and objectives. 3. Applies sound principles of learning and motivation in the planning, delivery and assessment phases of instructional delivery. 4. Uses technology as a tool within the classroom and as a management tool. 5. Establishes healthy relationships with students and staff and models respect for and acceptance of all persons in the school setting. 6. Establishes healthy relationships with families and the community. 7. Maintains professional ethics and responsibilities including participation in the total school program, participation in curriculum development and building committees. 8. Displays commitment to the district’s school improvement process, school-based governance system and curriculum development efforts. Education, Knowledge and Skills Required 1. Valid Michigan certification in Elementary Education 2. Lower Elementary positions ZA endorsement preferred with a strong emphasis in reading/literacy 3.
