The Embedded Control Systems Engineer is responsible for the development of software and embedded system architecture. Responsibilities include but are not limited to designing, coding, verifying, debugging, and documenting software and hardware architecture to support microcomputer product and embedded, mobile control system development. Your responsibilities Design, specification, and documentation of embedded control system architectures. Preparation of interface control documentation, requirement definition for subsystems/subcomponents. Develop and document effective working software programs meeting stated requirements. Work with the engineering team to provide technical and commercial support to ensure that designs meet technical standards (performance, reliability, safety, producibility, legal compliance etc.). Work closely with engineers and assembly and test technicians addressing changing design requirements. Assist with the creation of designs, cost estimates and technical proposals for new business opportunities. Follow systems and procedures for product development, design, and production, and contribute to the development of improved systems and procedures. Your experience 2-3 years’ experience in microprocessor / embedded controller real-time software development and hardware architecture design. Defence industry experience (advantageous). Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronic, or Software Engineering. Must be able to understand servocontrol principles and make appropriate hardware (embedded controller/microprocessor, sensor, bus system) and software design decisions. Good working knowledge of microcomputer / embedded controller development software and a good understanding of real time, multi-tasking programming techniques. The incumbent should also be familiar with microcomputer / embedded control architecture and interface circuits. Programming language background should include C (mandatory) and other high-level languages (C#, Python, Matlab/Simulink, etc.) Fieldbus knowledge (e.g., CAN/CANOpen (mandatory), J1939, MIL-CAN) Knowledge of power electronic design (beneficial) Australian Citizen (security clearance) Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent oral and written communication Excellent interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail High level of motivation and willingness to learn Strong work ethic Based in Melbourne this is an opportunity not to miss. #J-18808-Ljbffr
