Embedded Software Engineer - Battery Management Systems FLYTE is proud to be partnered with a leader in electric aviation, who is looking for a talented BMS (Battery Management System) Embedded Software Engineer to join their innovative team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing embedded software for our advanced battery management systems, ensuring the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability for electric aircraft. Key Responsibilities Embedded Software Development: Design, implement, and maintain embedded software for battery management systems used in electric aircraft. System Integration: Work closely with hardware teams to integrate software and hardware components, ensuring the seamless operation of BMS systems. Testing & Validation: Develop and execute testing procedures for software functionality and battery system performance, ensuring safety and efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for performance improvements in embedded systems and implement solutions to optimize battery management. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, system architects, and testing teams, to ensure alignment with project goals. Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all software and systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements for aerospace applications. Requirements Proven experience in embedded software development, with a focus on battery management systems or similar technologies. Strong knowledge of C, C++, or similar embedded programming languages. Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level hardware communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, CAN). Understanding of battery technologies and the specific challenges of managing battery systems in aerospace applications. Experience with software testing tools and techniques, including unit testing and system-level validation. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges. A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
