Emergency Management and Resilience Project Officer Job No:CCC1052 Location:Cessnock About the Opportunity Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Management and Resilience Project Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you will contribute to strengthening our community's preparedness and resilience in the face of emergencies and disasters. You will work closely with the Emergency Management and Resilience Coordinator to support the development and delivery of Council's Emergency Management plans and procedures, ensuring they are effectively implemented for community preparedness, resilience and recovery. A key responsibility of this position will be to develop the Spontaneous Volunteers Coordination Plan, a critical component of our emergency response strategy. This will involve collaborating with community resilience and local emergency service stakeholders, creating templates, documents, and processes to support the plan, as well as developing a comprehensive training plan for the coordination and engagement of spontaneous volunteers. You will also be working with the Emergency Management and Resilience Coordinator to develop and implement the Cessnock Community Disaster Resilience Strategy, as well as updating Emergency Management plans and procedures. About You To be successful in this position, you will hold a minimum of a certificate qualification in emergency management, social sciences, community development, welfare or other relevant equivalent qualifications with comprehensive experience in a similar position. You will have a demonstrated understanding of and experience with community development principles, practices and standards and utilise your experience in project management for the successful creation and activation of community development plans and activities. You will have knowledge or experience regarding the role of local government in managing local emergencies. Your highly developed interpersonal skills and strong negotiation skills will help you navigate complex situations and achieve positive outcomes, as well as resolve conflict. What's Next?
