A career that matters and lasts As the Energy Management Systems Support Engineer you’ll help us connect a more sustainable energy future for more than five million Queenslanders and 241,000 businesses. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support the development, maintenance, and improvement of critical EMS systems, ensuring 24/7 availability for Powerlink and its customers. Drive the adoption of new technologies, best practices, and continuous improvement in SCADA/EMS operations, while mentoring and training team members and stakeholders. Play a key part in the ongoing development and improvement of our team’s standards, data management, processes, software tools, and work procedures. Implement urgent operational solutions and contribute to the successful delivery of capital projects. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all technical requirements are met, and that the EMS is always available, reliable, and resilient. Analyze, implement, and review technical systems such as SCADA/RTU, Databases, HMI/displays, and the High Voltage network model. The people you'll join: Based in Virginia, you will work within the Operations and Service Delivery Division, reporting directly to the Energy Management Systems Team Leader. What you'll bring: To succeed in this role, you’ll need a relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Systems Engineering, or considerable hands-on experience with EMS. Knowledge of SCADA systems, data communication technologies, and fault management are essential, as is experience working with control systems. We also value experience in applying legislative requirements, managing projects, and developing ITIL-based methodologies.
