Career Opportunities: Engagement and Operations Manager (3281) Requisition ID 3281 - Posted - Arts/Culture - Full Time As Engagement and Operations Manager, you will be part of the Ipswich Art Gallery team. This position plays a critical role in the operational success of the Gallery. You will manage the administrative operations of the Gallery, including high-level financial operations and reporting, budget planning and management, policy development, human resource management, staff supervision, maintaining IT services, infrastructure, and facilities management. Working closely with the Director and collaboratively across departments, you will cultivate new ways for visitors to have meaningful and long-lasting relationships with Ipswich Art Gallery. You will lead the design and development of creative and inclusive engagement, education, and learning opportunities and programs for all ages that welcome and engage diverse audiences, drive attendance, strengthen visitor experience, and deepen connections to communities in the Ipswich region and beyond. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Assist the Director in the implementation of the strategic plan. Oversee Gallery administrative operations. Assist the Director to prepare and monitor the annual budget pertaining to the Gallery. Develop and oversee the implementation of an overarching marketing and communications plan and audience engagement strategies for the Gallery’s initiatives. Oversee proactive and responsive infrastructure, asset, and facilities management for the Gallery. Attract, develop, support, and retain a high-performing team. To be successful in this role you will have: A recognised tertiary qualification in Visual Arts, Art History and/or Business Administration, Marketing, or Museum/Arts studies and relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Substantial experience in developing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on policies, strategies, and systems, preferably within an art gallery or museum environment. Proven financial management skills including budget development and monitoring and the preparation of financial reports. Substantial planning and prioritising skills and the ability to coordinate a diverse range of initiatives and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines. Substantial interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills and the ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and with cultural competence, to a broad range of stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of staff and working in a team environment. A current Blue Card or ability to procure one.
