No. 100683 Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising an opportunity that exists for the role of Engineer- Civil in the Isa Surface Engineering Department. Reporting to the Superintendent – Engineering Regulated Structures. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa. Learn more about Mount Isa Mines at The Role Reporting to the Superintendent – Engineering Regulated Structures of the Isa Surface operations, the successful applicant will become part of a project management team tasked with executing civil project activities from design through to construction, applying appropriate engineering standards, technologies and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Provide input and project management on Civil Engineering projects for tailings operations; Manage construction and expansion projects on the existing TSF; Work closely with the EoR and design consultants to ensure the best business outcomes; Manage the risks associated with the TSF and ensure compliance to internal and industry standards; Develop and maintain the TSF operation, maintenance and surveillance strategy; Preparing specification, contract scopes of work, as well as estimates and schedules; Developing budgets and reports; Coordinating design and construction with consultants and contractors; Providing technical support to operations and maintenance personnel within the department; Upholding engineering works to relevant standards, regulations and statutory requirements. The successful candidate will possess: Tertiary qualification/s in Civil Engineering; A minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in design and project management; Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the business; Ability to achieve results within the specified time frames; Proven experience in the mining or civil construction industry; Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
