The Role: As an Engineer/Senior Engineer at ADELAIDE STRUCTURAL you will report directly into the Team Leader and play an integral role within our Adelaide team, working closely with the Director, taking a complementary role with client relationships. You will possess a strong broad-spectrum technical skillset, including an ability to apply project management principles at a high level of proficiency across multiple projects. It is expected that you have a high level of technical knowledge, with a clear focus on delivery, and an understanding of its importance. These attributes complement your autonomous capability, allowing you to work best when working to tight timelines. You will appreciate the unique opportunities a newly created role within a growing business can provide and understand the importance of being agile and flexible in your approach to meeting and exceeding agreed deliverables and key business objectives. About You: You are a consultative, results driven Engineer/Senior Engineer who is comfortable being client facing, while also remaining heavily focused on project delivery. Your project management experience will be the equal of your technical knowledge, allowing you to also be hands-on with the “nuts and bolts” engineering. You identify as being strongly autonomous and accountable, traits which you will carry over into this role, but also understand the importance of teamwork and appreciate the value that your colleagues can provide – more importantly, you are confident and mature enough to know when to seek their expertise and guidance, without being reliant on it. It is expected that you will have an excellent understanding of systems, with exposure to RAPT, ETABS, Strand 7, SkyCiv, Structural Toolkit, ClearCalcs, Checkwind, Tedds, Mathcad and SPACE GASS being particularly advantageous. Key to your success within the role will be: Your ability to work on projects autonomously, and demonstrate where you have done so previously. Being client and project delivery focused - You will be comfortable taking the lead and being “client facing”. Able to demonstrate a solid technical background. Attend site, meetings, and inspections as required. Possessing an awareness, accountability, and proven history of being economical with time and budget. Being responsible for fee estimates and proposals, tender submissions, technical documentation (including developing concepts and detailed engineering design) and project scheduling. Management of commercial requirements including preliminary contract review, preliminary subcontract generation, invoicing, recovery etc. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Competent enough to not need your hand held, but confident enough to recognise when to ask for guidance and advice. Able to speak confidently about the business and leverage/identify potential commercial opportunities when and where applicable.
