Role: RJE Global is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering Design Coordinator to join our team and be accountable for managing and coordinating RJE’s multidiscipline engineering design activities. The Engineering Design Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects by overseeing the design phase from conception to completion. They act as a liaison between various stakeholders including engineers, project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure that project objectives are met to a high standard within specified project timelines and work pack budget constraints. The Engineering Design Coordinator will coordinate the engineering design work required to execute RJE projects. They manage the development and verification of technical drawings and documents in accordance with project requirements and delivery dates as outlined in the project document deliverable register (DDR). The design coordinator will ensure RJE engineering standard designs are maintained and implemented on projects as required. Key Accountabilities Lead the engineering and design team in the management, coordination, and delivery of engineering design deliverables in accordance with industry best practices and statutory requirements. Implement rigorous project governance strategies throughout the project lifecycle to ensure clear and transparent decision making, accountabilities, actions, and outcomes. Develop comprehensive risk and quality management strategies that incorporate risk mitigation and due diligence controls to ensure consistent and compliant design project delivery. Encourage innovation and be involved in feasibility activities to ensure all new projects deliver maximum value with a “lowest price, technically acceptable” approach. Develop and maintain appropriate policies and procedures to meet business requirements. Work in collaboration with project managers, construction teams, and other key stakeholders to achieve business goals. Assist in the completion of as-builts and handovers. Coordinate design reviews and ensure design verification checklists are complete. Essential criteria & experience required: Experience in design management, scheduling, and quality control. Detailed knowledge of Australian and International Standards. Minimum 5 years experience in the mining, utility, resource & renewables sectors. Experience in engineering software tools (AutoCAD etc.) Willing to lead with an innovative, adaptable, flexible & positive attitude. Be thorough and pay attention to detail. The ability to work in a close team environment and interface with clients. Self-starter who takes ownership of tasks through to completion.
