Your new role: This opportunity would suit either an experienced senior/lead systems engineer looking to step up, or an already experienced engineering manager. Key tasks include: Define, maintain, and improve the Engineering Management System, ensuring engineering processes are executed properly. Develop robust, safe, and fit-for-purpose designs using best practices. Lead the framework development for design release, change control, and configuration management throughout the product life cycle. Guide Engineering Team Leads to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and engineering standards. Assist Engineering Team Leads in developing solutions that meet design and cost requirements, aligning with company objectives. As the Design Authority, review and approve design and manufacturing documentation for production and service release. Approve verification, validation, testing, and acceptance activities at each engineering stage. Integrate emerging technologies into new product designs. Monitor and forecast skill and capability needs, recommending recruitment and investment as necessary. What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or higher) with Chartership (or eligibility). Strong experience as a systems engineer, leading teams and delivering complex defence programs. Strong understanding of delivering to defence as the customer. Extensive knowledge of Maintenance Engineering practices. Leadership experience of a multidisciplinary team of Engineering and technical employees. Experience in applying a vehicle development process to a complex system for a complete platform. Currently hold or the ability to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance. Experience in delivery of programs in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., DEF(AUST), MIL‐STD, DEF STAN, EIA, IEC, etc). Must be able to be based in a Geelong location.
