We are expanding our Software Engineering organisation and are looking for an Engineering Manager to be a part of this journey. What you'll do We are expanding our management team with Engineering Managers who will play a crucial role in building, leading, and scaling Engineering teams. You will be a manager within areas building our platform as well as for enabling speed for our developers. You’ll help the engineers in your team by removing obstacles and helping them grow. You’ll contribute to agile ways of working through technical leadership, prioritisation, and close collaboration with product managers, engineering managers, other teams, and executives. You are a person who has adopted a lean agile mind-set, applied servant leadership, has good communication skills, and can collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders. Role Description: Managing an engineering team with crucial engineering processes and contributing to strategic decisions. Job Responsibilities: Leadership and Direction: Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals. Organizational Capability Building: Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions to build their capabilities. Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Performance Management: Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives. Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions. Internal Client Relationship Management: Manage relationships with internal clients and act as a business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and managing the deployment of appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans. What you'll bring As an Engineering Manager, you set the context for your team to navigate in the daily work. You have the ability to see and find the skills needed to deliver on our mission. You are passionate about being part of building and expanding our company both in capacity, culture, and product portfolio. To be successful in this role, we believe that you have: A background and hands-on experience in software development, preferably in C++, and large scale system design. Strong people management, collaboration, and communication skills that are essential for working in a diverse international setting. Experience of leading development teams or groups/areas within Software Development. Supplier management or experience from working with outsourced teams is a plus. Ready to Take the Next Step?
