Job Description

Engineering Mechanical (Fitter) Apprenticeship You will complete a Certificate III Engineering Mechanical qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our Host Employer. What Will You Be Doing? This apprenticeship offers a structured training program where you will develop the skills and experience needed to become a qualified Mechanical Fitter . You will work alongside experienced tradespeople: As an apprentice, you will learn to: Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical components and equipment Use precision tools and machining techniques, including milling, lathes, and grinding Interpret technical drawings and specifications Diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems Follow workplace safety procedures and comply with WHS regulations The Ideal Trainee We’re looking for motivated individuals with the following qualities and skills: A genuine interest in mechanical fitting and engineering Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude The ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic math and computer skills for technical calculations and documentation A commitment to completing a four-year apprenticeship To Be Successful, You Will Need: Valid driver’s licence (or reliable transport to worksite and training locations) The ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including a medical which involves a Fitness Functional Assessment and Drug and Alcohol screening and a police check.
