About the Opportunity We are seeking an Underwriter to provide underwriting services to the broker market, liaising with brokers and internal staff on policy terms and conditions, and assisting the company in marketing its brand to the broker network. Responsibilities Identifying potential for and developing new client relationships; proactively identifying client requirements. Undertaking actions which meet and/or exceed client expectations, using communication styles and methods to ensure understanding and enduring client satisfaction. Influencing outcomes that maximize potential for long term relationships. Developing customer relationships by listening to and making efforts to understand the customer. Reviewing and issuing terms for renewals, new quotes, alterations and cancellations in accordance with company underwriting guidelines. Identifying and assessing the underwriting criteria and classification for risks to determine acceptance and terms to be applied. Acting within delegated authority limits and referring internally/externally when required. Skills and Knowledge Minimum 3 years’ experience in Insurance/Underwriting required. Qualifications as determined by PS146 requirements from time to time in order to provide advice to the public. Compliance with any financial services legislation and regulation enacted by the Commonwealth of Australia or the States. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail. Influencing events actively and proactively to achieve goals.
