Let us talk about the roles and responsibilities: We are hiring an experienced Google Data Platform Architect to design, implement, and optimize robust data solutions aimed at detecting and mitigating fraud. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create an advanced data ecosystem that enables real-time fraud prevention and analytics. Architecture Design & Assessment : Develop and assess the architecture for the Google Data Hub, ensuring it aligns with business goals and risk management objectives. Perform architectural assessments to ensure scalability, flexibility, and robustness. Security Expertise : Understand and implement security-related nuances specific to fraud data. This includes encryption, secure data storage, secure communication protocols, and ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations. Logical Infrastructure Design : Design the logical infrastructure for handling fraud-related data flows, ensuring proper integration of fraud detection tools, databases, and data processing systems. Fraud Data Flows Understanding : Have a foundational understanding of how fraud-related data flows through the bank’s systems, including detection, monitoring, and prevention of fraudulent activities. Technology Decision Making : Evaluate, propose, and implement technology solutions based on the evolving needs of the bank’s fraud prevention capabilities. Make informed decisions regarding the use of cloud technologies, on-premise solutions, and hybrid models. Stakeholder Communication : Produce clear architectural representations, such as architecture overview documents and technical diagrams, to communicate the design and decisions to stakeholders, including business analysts, security teams, developers, and senior management. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including security, data engineering, fraud detection, compliance, and business operations, to ensure alignment with the overall organizational strategy and goals. Documentation & Governance : Produce comprehensive documentation for the architectural designs, including data flow diagrams, network topologies, and system interfaces. Ensure that all architecture designs comply with the bank’s governance and regulatory policies. Risk Management : Focus on identifying, managing, and mitigating risks related to fraud data systems. Ensure that risk management processes are embedded within the architecture design. Key Skills & Qualifications: Architecture Design : Expertise in designing enterprise-level architecture, especially in risk management and fraud prevention contexts. Familiarity with both on-premise and cloud-based solutions (AWS, GCP). Security Focus : Deep understanding of security best practices for handling sensitive financial data, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements (GDPR, PCI DSS, etc.). Fraud Data Knowledge : Understanding of fraud data and its flow within a banking or financial institution environment, including customer transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and fraud risk management. Technology Stack Expertise : Familiarity with various technologies commonly used in fraud detection systems (e.g., machine learning tools, big data processing frameworks, and real-time analytics platforms). Communication Skills : Strong ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders, producing high-quality documentation and architectural diagrams. Problem-Solving : Able to make quick, well-informed decisions when it comes to navigating complex technology landscapes and fraud-related challenges. Regulatory Awareness : Understanding of the regulatory landscape for financial institutions, particularly around fraud prevention, data privacy, and compliance. Certification & Education : A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Industry certifications such as TOGAF, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar are a plus. Desirable Experience: Fraud Prevention Systems : Experience working with or implementing fraud detection platforms, transaction monitoring systems, or anti-money laundering (AML) solutions. Cloud Platforms : Hands-on experience with cloud architectures, such as AWS, or Google Cloud, with a focus on security and compliance. Financial Industry Experience : Familiarity with the financial services industry, particularly in banking, risk management, and fraud prevention. Personal Attributes: Leadership : Ability to lead architectural discussions and guide teams to implement the right solutions. Analytical Thinking : Strong analytical skills to design systems that balance performance, security, and scalability. Adaptability : Ability to adapt to fast-changing technology landscapes and evolving business needs in fraud management.
