The Firm Our client is a multi-award winning major law firm with a formidable environment & planning team. Due to growth, the team is looking to recruit an environment & planning lawyer with around 1 to 5 years post-admission experience. This team acts for all the major councils, as well as other government agencies and private companies, including ASX-listed companies. The Role This role will see you gaining experience in Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Class 5, and Class 6 proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience in planning appeals, enforcements & judicial reviews, and prosecutions. There will also be opportunities to get involved in advisory work, especially in relation to environmental law generally and climate change issues. The client base is a mix of major property developers, major construction companies, as well as government agencies (state and Federal) and councils. There will be partner access and mentoring with partners and other senior lawyers. This firm has an open door policy. There is a strong pipeline of work, and this role has come about due to growth. About You The ideal candidate will have: Around 1 to 5 years post-admission experience in environment & planning law (lawyers working in-house, or a Council or in government are encouraged to apply) Strong technical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a high-performing team but also autonomously Ability to work under pressure and juggle competing deadlines A passion for developing your career in the environment space Culture & Benefits On offer is a generous salary package plus flexible working arrangements.
