About the opportunity As an Environmental Advisor on the Hill Road Upgrade, based in the Sydney Olympic Park/Lidcombe area, you’ll ensure the project meets NSW environmental regulations and sustainability goals. This pivotal upgrade will improve accessibility and ease congestion, with your role focusing on managing environmental impacts, conducting risk assessments, and driving sustainability efforts to protect the local environment and deliver lasting community benefits. Day to day, you will: Provide operational environmental and sustainability guidance across the project, fostering a culture of best practice and compliance Develop, review, and support construction environmental management plans, environmental risk assessments, and sustainability management plans Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits, investigating any incidents to ensure prompt resolution Identify and manage environmental and sustainability risks while ensuring compliance with all obligations Offer technical environmental and sustainability input to support the tender process Educate and build our project teams' knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements Liaise with clients, government bodies, and regulatory authorities on all environmental and sustainability matters Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for sustainability and environmental objectives throughout the project lifecycle What you’ll bring to the team Requirements include 5+ years of experience as an Environmental Advisor, within Civil Construction Qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks Proven expertise in applying and managing environmental standards, particularly ISO 14001, across complex, high-profile projects Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies A strategic mindset to foresee risks, implement proactive solutions, and ensure top-tier environmental compliance and sustainability. Proven ability to integrate environmental objectives into project goals, fostering a culture of environmental excellence.
