We are seeking a motivated and collaborative team player to support our Program Leader (Environmental Health Projects) in delivering impactful projects and programs. This exciting role focuses on addressing emerging environmental health challenges, including the critical public health impacts of climate change. Join us and make a difference! About the role: Conduct environmental health assessments on proposed developments and provide reports and policy advice to Council staff and external stakeholders. Undertake routine environmental health inspections, investigate complaints and reports on possible breaches of food hygiene, and environmental and public health legislation. Enforce laws and regulations related to environmental health and public health. Develop and implement environmental health programs and policies. Provide advice and education to the public, businesses, and other stakeholders on environmental health issues. What's on offer: A base salary ranging from $81,860 per annum with competency-based increments up to $96,965 per annum, plus 11.5% super. A maximum-term contract of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension or permanency subject to performance, funding, and operational needs. 70-hour, 9-day fortnight. We are seeking: Recognised qualification at degree level in Environmental Health or equivalent where specialist knowledge is required. Eligible for membership of Environmental Health Australia. An understanding of environmental concepts associated with water, noise, and air pollution and public health.
