Environmental Regulatory Manager About the role This role will give you the opportunity to lead a team of environmental professionals who work collaboratively across the organisation to provide environmental leadership, specialist environmental advice, reporting and analysis, environmental training and awareness, major incident investigation, and environmental communications. You will lead Sydney Water’s relationship management with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), including projects, policy prioritisation, and driving cost effective compliance with EPA requirements. Responsibilities: Enable purpose and empower the team by driving/enacting direction that balances the requirements to service the customer, develop a constructive culture and demonstrate commercial focus. Use of personal impact, effectiveness and ability to influence others. Lead the design and development of a portfolio of critical environmental regulatory projects that deliver the best environmental outcomes for customers and stakeholders. Lead internal environmental incident investigations and audits in response to significant environmental incidents and other environmental and performance issues. Deliver environmental regulatory solutions which are innovative and creative, and meet EPA requirements. Ensure that an effective program governance framework and structure are in place, including Project Board, Project Teams, roadmap, project stages and dispute resolution. About You: 15 years professional experience working in environmental management for a large, complex organisation, with at least 5 years at a leadership level. Significant experience in developing, leading and managing environmental regulatory strategies and projects. Superior understanding of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and related regulation. Strong ability to identify and measure business performance improvement opportunities through robust and logical problem solving, strategic, analytical and financial evaluation skills. Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills – interpersonal skills and self-awareness. Please see the position description for the full accountabilities and details of the role.
