Overview Inner West Council is offering a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Environmental Services team as a trainee. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced professionals to preserve and enhance the local environment while completing a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management . This program is ideal for individuals passionate about environmental conservation and eager to contribute to sustainable, community-focused projects. This 12-month supported program provides continuous guidance and assistance to help you succeed and develop a solid foundation for your career in environmental management. Key Responsibilities Conservation and Ecosystem Management Support Assist in implementing conservation projects aimed at preserving local ecosystems. Support the management of native flora and fauna, focusing on habitat protection and rehabilitation. Monitor environmental conditions and contribute to reports on biodiversity and environmental health. Environmental Services and Sustainability Initiatives Participate in planning and delivering sustainability programs for the local community. Contribute to creating and maintaining green spaces, parks, and public areas to promote ecological balance. Assist in managing environmental data and preparing reports related to conservation and sustainability. Training and Development Undertake structured training to complete the Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management . Gain hands-on experience with tools and techniques used in environmental management, including data collection, analysis, and mapping. Learn and apply best practices for sustainable land management, conservation, and ecological restoration. Selection Criteria Education and Training Willingness to complete the Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management as part of the traineeship. A passion for environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Skills and Attributes Strong interest in preserving the environment and contributing to community-focused projects. Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Reliable, organised, and motivated to learn and develop new skills.
