Job Description About the opportunity: Join the dynamic Show Competitions Teams at Melbourne Royal Show! We're currently hiring an Event Coordinator for the Livestock portfoilio on fixed term basis for 6 months. As an Event Coordinator, you'll work directly with the Show Competitions Managers to ensure the successful delivery of Livestock competitions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Australia's premier events. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate competition events and programs, including administration, scheduling, and budget management. Supervise logistical arrangements for exhibitors, animals, and infrastructure. Manage temporary and fixed term support staff, committees, judges, stewards, and suppliers. Liaise with Competition Committee and stakeholders to ensure smooth event operations. Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including exhibitors, volunteers, and industry organisations. Oversee support staff activities and day-to-day operations. Prepare post-show debrief reports. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Melbourne Royal's Code of Conduct. Work collaboratively with CRM team to maintain data integrity. Desired Skills and Experience What are we looking for? We are seeking an experienced Event Coordinator. The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in event management or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. Demonstrated achievement in coordinating events, coupled with a proven track record in project management, is essential. The successful candidate will exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to problem-solve effectively. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and previous CRM experience are required, along with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. A positive, self-motivated attitude, coupled with a sense of humor, punctuality, and reliability, is key. Successful candidates must hold or be able to obtain a Working With Children’s Check.
