Our services uplift children, families, older Australians, people with disability and those needing pathways out of homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges and financial hardship. We are seeking a strategic leader to drive strategy, growth and operational excellence in community services. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Director – Community Services is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This pivotal role oversees Wesley Mission’s extensive community services portfolio, ensuring the effective delivery of programs that are sustainable, compliant, and aligned with the organisation’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities. Strategic and Operational Excellence Working closely with the CEO, ELT, and Board, you will lead the development and execution of long-term strategies to extend Wesley Mission’s impact. You will play an integral role in business planning, revenue growth, fostering a high-performance culture focused on service excellence and client-centred outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership across community services, including child, family and disability services, vocational education, harm prevention, and counselling, including Lifeline, social enterprises, and business services. Ensure services are sustainable, commercially viable, and compliant with all regulatory, funding, and quality standards. Identify and pursue growth opportunities through stakeholder engagement with government bodies, funding partners, and donors. Lead and develop high-performing teams, cultivating a culture aligned with Wesley Mission’s Christian ethos and values. Strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks across the portfolio. Monitor environmental and sector trends to ensure Wesley Mission remains responsive to emerging community needs. Collaborate with the Board, Quality and Risk Committee, and other key stakeholders to optimise community services. About You You are a proven executive leader with extensive experience in managing complex community services or human services environments. Your commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and commitment to social impact enable you to drive sustainable service delivery that aligns with organisational values. Significant senior executive leadership experience within large, complex organisations. Demonstrated expertise in community services, aged care, disability, or related sectors. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience in government and funding relationships. Commercial and strategic acumen with a track record of achieving financial and service outcomes. High-level governance, risk, and compliance experience. A personal commitment to Wesley Mission’s Christian ethos and values. Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, human services, or a related discipline.
