The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) is an independent statutory authority and corporate Commonwealth entity responsible for the development of a national curriculum, a national assessment program, and a national data collection and reporting program that supports 21st-century learning for all Australian students. ACARA's work is carried out in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including teachers, principals, governments, state and territory education authorities, professional education associations, community groups, and the general public. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director, Curriculum is a key member of the ACARA executive team and leads the Curriculum business unit. The individual stepping into this role will have the opportunity to shape and influence the future of national education and improve the learning outcomes for school students across Australia. This position provides a critical opportunity to demonstrate strong curriculum expertise, strategic vision, and political acumen, playing a key role in influencing national and international education standards. To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated senior experience and expertise in the strategic design, development, implementation, and monitoring of F-12 curriculum and extensive knowledge of curriculum policy and practice, including assessment and reporting on student learning at a state, national, and potentially international level. Your political acumen and exceptional stakeholder management skills gained in complex cross-jurisdictional environments will be highly regarded, as will a record of leadership at the senior level and a passion for and commitment to education and its impact on children and young people.
