Job Description
We are seeking an Executive General Manager (EGM) – Energy to join our head office in Brisbane. Reporting directly to Edge’s Advisory Board and working closely with our Executive General Manager – Operations & Compliance, the EGM – Energy will be conjointly accountable for the growth and performance of both Edge business units – Edge2020 and Edge Utilities. The EGM – Energy will sit on Edge’s Management Team and directly manage Edge’s Energy Management Team (EMT). The EMT is made up of energy professionals that are the front line of Edge’s products and services. This role will focus on ensuring current products and services are being delivered to the highest standards, whilst strategically delivering new products and services. As a small team with very large responsibilities, you will need to lead more senior energy deliverables. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior energy professional that still enjoys being a part of the action. Assisting in structuring complex strategies, implementing sophisticated solutions, and leading negotiations on large energy transactions will be a key role for Edge's EGM - Energy. Success in this role will be measured by revenue growth, budget management, and enhancing overall company value. This includes the performance of our services, strengthening of our brand and reputation, and fostering a positive and productive culture. This position requires a senior people manager and industry networker who knows the breadth and depth of Australian energy markets. Experience in market facing, commercial, business development, or trading roles is essential. Your knowledge and experience A Bachelor level degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, or Business (Economics, Commerce, or Finance). Minimum 8-10 years of energy industry experience, preferably in Australian energy markets. Strong understanding of the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and associated regulations. Exceptional leadership and management skills. Minimum 5 years’ experience managing team members and budgets. Expectations as an Edge Employee Act with integrity and reliability. Operate efficiently with exceptional time management skills. Quality focused, with a commitment to Edge’s quality requirements. Comply with all Company and AFSL legislative requirements.
