Job Description

Executive Protection Security Manager - News Corp We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Protection Security Manager (EPSM) responsible for overseeing the safety and security of a high-profile business leader. The role involves a combination of risk management, strategic planning, and coordination of protective services to ensure the safety of the executive and their family in both their personal and professional lives. The ideal candidate will also work closely with the broader executive team, including the management of any contract security, to create a secure environment, coordinate logistics, and proactively address potential threats. Security Planning and Strategy Development of security plans tailored to the executive’s specific needs, including home, travel and event security, attendance at office and business functions, and public and personal engagements. Coordination of security logistics for special events, including VIP access control, crowd management, and secure transportation. Threat Assessment and Risk Management Systematic and targeted risk assessment to identify potential security threats or vulnerabilities. Monitoring and evaluation of potential and actual security threats (e.g., stalking, harassment, or natural disaster) making adjustments to the protection plan as needed. Oversee the use and maintenance of security technology such as cameras, alarms and access control systems. Crisis Management and Emergency Response Development and execution of emergency response plans for various scenarios, including natural disasters, medical emergencies, or attacks. Managing a Security Team Supervisory oversight of relevant contract security professionals, such as security officers and guards, drivers, and surveillance experts, ensuring they are properly prepared and briefed. Delivery of regular training sessions and drills to ensure the team is aligned with general security protocols and can respond immediately and effectively in emergency situations. Liaising with Law Enforcement and External Security Providers Liaison and partnership with local law enforcement and government agencies. Management of relationships with external providers or specialist services, when necessary. Who are you? Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal security, executive protection or similar high-level security management role. Military or law enforcement background preferred. Previous experience managing security teams and coordinating security operations. In-depth knowledge of and experience in risk management practices, threat analysis, and incident response. Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, crisis management and leadership abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with high-level executives, family members, and other security teams. Strong physical fitness and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Handle sensitive information with integrity, ensuring that privacy is maintained at all times. Proficiency in security technologies, surveillance systems, and communication equipment. Certifications Executive Protection certification (e.g., from an accredited institution or security agency). First Aid/CPR/AED certification (preferred). Advanced driver training (preferred).
