Experienced Laboratory Scientist - Orange About the Company Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology services across New South Wales and northwest Victoria. About the Role An opportunity has become available for a multi-disciplined Scientific Officer (Health Professional) to join our Laboratories in Orange with participation in the Bathurst Laboratory roster (approx. 1 day/week plus some relief work). You will be an essential member of a highly skilled team, operating to service a large area of the NSW Central West and the relevant Private Hospitals in Orange and Bathurst. Hours: This is a permanent position (part-time applications will be considered) with shifts rostered to cover the operating hours of 8am until 8.30pm, Monday to Friday and 10.30am until 2pm on Saturdays. Participation in the on-call roster outside of these hours will be required. Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this position, the applicant must have a degree in Medical Science (or recognized equivalent). One to two years’ experience in Haematology, Coagulation, Transfusion, Biochemistry, and Microbiology would be preferred, but is not essential. A current driver's license and own transport, as well as general computer skills, would also be an advantage. Additional Qualifications: Be eligible for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Display the ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision Show an understanding of quality control techniques Be proficient, motivated, and highly organized, with great attention to detail Be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis We are proud to say we have a learning and supportive environment, and full training will be provided.
