Experienced Maintenance Employee - Sporting Reserves Permanent Full Time Location: Morwell Salary Range: $65,932.88 to $70,754.84 plus applicable allowances and 11.5% superannuation Department: City Presentation Do you want to make an IMPACT? The Role As Experienced Maintenance Employee – Sporting Reserves, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Latrobe City's natural and synthetic grass playing surfaces and surrounds, performing a range of sports turf related maintenance activities throughout the Municipality. Working hours will be from 7:00AM - 4:00PM with a 9-day fortnight. Workdays will be starting and concluding at Latrobe City Council’s depot at Driffield Rd, Morwell. About You You are a team orientated individual with the ability to work autonomously when required. You have sound knowledge and experience in sports turf or high-end open space maintenance, which enables you to identify problems and recommend both technical and practical solutions to your supervisor when required. You recognise the importance of providing a safe workplace for all and support this by completing daily pre-start checks, carrying out basic maintenance requirements of sports turf related equipment and machinery and following operating procedures as required. You take pride in presenting Sporting Reserves to the highest of standards and understand the role in which they play within the community. You are aware of the importance of friendly and professional communication when interacting with the community, suppliers and colleagues alike. You will have: Certificate III in Sports Turf Management desirable or substantial relevant experience working within sports turf management or maintenance of high-quality open spaces. Practical experience performing specialised skills in turf management, i.e., chemical application, turf wicket preparation, irrigation repair, oval renovations etc. A high level of knowledge in respect to current practices and industry standards relating to the preparation and maintenance of sports turf. Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety requirements in relation to sports turf maintenance and machinery operation. Current Victorian Driver’s License. Current Chemical Users License. Construction Induction (White Card). Current Medium Rigid Vehicle License (preferred). Current First Aid (preferred). Current Traffic Control and Worksite Management Certificate (preferred). All successful applicants are required to undergo a Police Check, Pre-Employment Medical Check and hold a valid employee Working with Children Check.
